Little Things...
-A certain person asked at dinner the other night if anyone had come by while she was gone to see if she had a TV. No, no one had. We usually let the weird questions (like the weekly "Do you have class on Thursday morning?") go, but this was just too weird. Further inquiry revealed that her TV tax for owning a TV has not been paid any time recently. :o )
-Always remember to check if your movie is in Version Originale or Version Francaise before buying the tickets... otherwise you might end up seeing Big Fish in French.
-Why is it that the "privileged" cash register that is handicap accessible at Monoprix only takes checks or credit cards - no cash?
-Why on the French chocolate candies made and sold in France by the French Nestle company does it say, in English, "More milk chocolate = more fun"?
-Driving is like time travel - no, seriously. I was given a ride home by another host mom from the movie the other night... fourth time I've been in a car since getting here and the idea of getting across town in five minutes amazes me. We were passing all these people who were walking like I usually do - leaving them in the dust it seemed... amazing, I tell you.
-The French really believe in creams to tone, slim and get rid of cellulite. I figure they either have different ingredients that aren't FDA approved, the placebo effect really works, or they're in serious denial.
-Another slang word never to use again (based on the mistake of a friend) = le pipe.
-I still think European ice cream is better, but they really have weird taste - at Haagen-Daaz you can get Lychee and Ginger Cream flavor.
-In the dark, the doorbell and the hall light switch look exactly the same. Thank goodness Joelle sleeps through anything.
